Yay! It's 2014

It stars again- another new year.  Yay!! Each year one begins I feel excited because it symbolizes new growth, change, expectations!! I love that about the New Year. Every blooming moment seems anew and kindled with promises and people start creating their resolutions.

So, I’ll just explore on a few common resolutions I’ve heard of yearly:

1.       Get a job.

2. Lose weight or start a weight loss programme.

3. Quit Smoking or drinking.

4. Start School.

5. Go to the gym regularly.

6. Make amends with family.

Found any you can identify with?

Well, even if you can’t, I would encourage you to formulate some. Think of the experience you would crave to have and put it into action this year. Allow the prospect of a new beginning to seep into you, write it down- in your mind, on paper, voice it to a friend and manifest it. It should make you feel incredibly happy and afresh.

I’ve heard many times to set realistic goals but I can’t determine a person’s view on realistic. However, I do believe it means that it should be in your reach.  If there is a goal in mind which seems far-fetched now, create a goal map. That goal map should highlight all the steps to reach there.

Example, if your mission is to travel toSwitzerland, start earning some money, buy winter clothes etc. It should take a good deal of money and preparation to get there, but if that is the goal- do it even if it takes years. Take into mind the old adage “Rome wasn’t built in a day.”

Anyway, here are some of the goals I wish to dive into for 2014:

My goals this year are pretty simple:

1.       Divulge in Art classes.

2.       Dedicate myself to the subjects I’m studying.

3.       Reach stage 3 in my instrument.

4.       Become more spiritually inclined.

5.       Smile.

6.       Sell a few pieces of Art.

7.       Utilize the school gym.

8.       Have fun-I’ve been encouraged to do this regularly and never listened before.

9.       Get an on campus job.

10.   Learn to relax i.e be less uptight.

11.   Stop giving a rats-ass about what people think of me!

Yep, I’m keeping it a little simple this year but goals 1-3 are the steps I have to a few long term goals. So, wherever you are- indulge a little. Allow yourself to dream and manifest your goals.

See you next year!
